Nick Robertson with a hattrick for USA (not a bad night with 300 scouts int he stands)
one of them, he put laser beam up top, in and out so fast he was the only guy who knew he scored.
was jumping into the glass on his own while the play continued for 2 minutes.
USA took a penalty during that extra time, so while the goal ended up counting, Canada tied it up on their powerplay.

there is no video review... not because the building isn't equipped for it, but because the other building (Red Deer) isn't, so it wouldn't be fair. So refs just kind of huddled up and said "sure, i guess that went in?".
they were right, by the way.

fast forward to the final second, Cozens wires one home to tie the game at 5 as the buzzer sounds. well, technically 0.1 seconds after the buzzer sounds. So refs just kind of huddled up and said "sure, i guess that went in?".
they were wrong this time..

and of course Canada scores early in overtime.
exciting game. yankees got hosed.

first period was nuts.. 1 minutes in Canada were outshooting Sweden 12-3, score was 2-0 Sweden (both excellent shots).
Canada switched their goalie, and actually cranked it up a significant notch
scored 2 in the next 3 minutes, and were up 3-2 by the end of the period and never looked back.

have i mentioned lafreniere is freakin' ridiculous? 2020 draft class.
(ie. did you know Alexis Lafreniere is only 16 years old?)

this play started shen he stripped the puck from one of Sweden's best player in the far zone
