Cole Hamels through 250 games: 100-76, 3.40 ERA, 1627.1 IP, 1543 SO, 1.148 WHIP, 122 ERA+
Steve Carlton through 262 games (with the Phillies): 130-87, 3.00 ERA, 1969 IP, 1519 SO, 1.199 WHIP, 124 ERA+
Robin Roberts through 245 games started: 137-88, 2.98 ERA, 2006 IP, 983 SO, 1.140 WHIP, 132 ERA+
Grover Cleveland Alexander through 233 games started: 160-75, 2.18 ERA, 2104 IP, 1203 SO, 1.076 WHIP, 142 ERA+
Curt Schilling through 210 games: 95-72, 3.31 ERA, 1546.2 IP, 1458 SO, 1.110 WHIP, 127 ERA+
Hamels compares pretty favorably with Carlton and Schiling when they were at the same point in their careers as Hamels with the Phillies. He probably won't ever be the best, but he has had a hell of a career thus far.
