Probably.

Because of his longevity and his dunk contest heroics.

Not a lock though, because he has 0 first team NBA selections and 0 rings.

But, if McGrady got in, I think Vince does too.

Fair enough.

I think borderline when his name comes up but he'll probably make it eventually....because of how long he has played.

Are you for real?

You basically implied his career was ruined by injuries. That simply isn't the case. He probably would have been somewhat better, but that is far from given.

Because I have defintely seen high flyers like Vince who became better basketball players once some of their athleticism faded because the had to focus more on the subleties and nuances of the game that didn't matter as much before.

Point is, Vince was still really damn good in New Jersey. He had his 2nd highest PER season and 3 of his top 7 PERs in NJ.
I never implied his career was ruined by injuries. That was your assumption.

Then what exactly did you mean by this?

"Impressive. Especially given his injury history. Think of how good he would've been had his knees stayed relatively healthy."

If you never implied his career was ruined by injuries why did you say this?

Again, no where there does it say he had a bad career. That was an assumption made by the reader.

Ok.

Well, your opinion that he would have been a lot better minus the injuries, is shit.
So is yours. Great retort by the way. The person you learned it from must be a genius.

Why the Hawks' Vince Carter, 41, has no interest in chasing rings as his career winds down

This is why I have more respect for Vince Carter than I do for someone like Ray Allen or David West...

"I come from an era where that's not how it was. So that's still instilled in me. And I don't have any problem with how it's done now. (It's) just not for me," Carter, 41, said Thursday on a conference call for the Jr. NBA World Championships.

"I still want to play the game," Carter, the oldest player in the NBA said. "Whatever minutes are there, I want (them)."

Whats the point now unless he's just ring chasing? If he wants to just play ball, he can go and play pickup games. Instead of being on the road all time

He clearly still enjoys it, there are still teams willing to pay him and he can still be effective a few minutes a game.

Why not continue to play?

I get it too.

He obviously has a more significant on court role playing on a bad time. He would rather play than sit the bench and collect a ring.

Half man Half amazing

Hope he still plays his last game in Toronto
Yea that would be great. Even if the raptors signed him to a one day contract so he could retire as a raptor

mcgrady was a 7x all star and led the nba in scoring twice.

carter is a 10x all star, but never led in anything.
