Two players for the 3rd line

I know its a long shot, but I could see both of these players making our 3rd line a threat and solid on the d-side.

Joel Ward
Wayne Simmonds

You could call it the Oreo line.

I'm not that high on Simmonds. OK if he could be had for cheap. I'd love to have Ward on the Sharks. Guy was money in the playoffs for Nashville. One of the few guys to show up on offense in the Vancouver series. I think the Preds will keep him though.

Simmonds is RFA and wouldn't be worth the cost it would take to aquire him. Ward would be a great pick up. Ville Leino, Jussi Jokinen, and Scottie Upshall are a couple others I hope Dougie has in mind.

I like Leino, and he seems to play well in the playoffs. I think the Flyers are capped out and need to unload salary to try to land a premier goalie. I think he is a goner in Philly.

Simmonds like i said last off season is grossly overrated, if he is lucky he will have a couple of Scott Thornton like seasons, but that means he is on a team with no depth getting top line minutes.

I doubt Ward leaves and i wouldnt be a bit surprised to see Nashville make a pitch for Richards, i think getting to the second round may get the owners to open up the bank a little
