Some interesting transactions (just because they're ex-Bucs) took place on 3/26:
- The Mets re-signed RHP Chris Young to a minor league deal.
- The Rangers released LHP Joe Beimel.
- LHP John Grabow exercised his option to opt out of his minor league deal with the Dodgers and became a FA.
There have been rumors afloat that the Pirates are seeking LH bullpen help. I wonder if they're thinking about Beimel or Grabow. (Hope not.)
On the other hand, I would have liked to see them sign Young..... who obviously was available on a minor league contract. If Young is healthy enough to pitch, he likely will pitch well.
1B-OF Conor Jackson also was released by the Rangers. A few years back, he was a decent player in the NL with the D-Backs. When I saw that he had been released, I checked out his stats..... didn't realize he had fallen apart so badly in the AL.
