McDowell is getting paid by the round/slot he was drafted in. That's not on the Seahawks. No one could for see Kam having a career ender either.

I understand, but both McDowell and Kam are hurting the CAP.
Nothing the Hawks could do, but it still hurts the CAP.

Well yeah, anybody that gets paid and can’t play hurts the cap. :puzzled:

Think of it this way, the FO has usually been very good at managing the cap. The loss of Kam and McDowell does hurt cause it was unseeable but they will find a way to mange it.

I get it.
But do we extend ET for 4 years, and risk the Kam situation.
Or will Earl stay healthy.

I'm fine with paying or even over-paying Earl, but only for 2 years.
And 11-12 Million.

He still plays at a very high level so yes I'd give him the 4 and let him end his career as a Hawk. The thing with me is anybody you sign is a risk cause of the game they play in and injuries can happen at any time.

I totally get that.
But don't make EARL the 3rd.

Does Earl stand a chance to have a career ending injury. Sure he does.
That's why no longer than 2 years.
Earl, you play at PB caliber for this year and 2 more, then he can bring it up again,

Money for PA is not the issue.
It is the CAP.

I would LOVE to see Wilson accepted a HUGE new contract, but not fight over being the HIGHEST paid.
is 25 Million a year enough for you Russell?

I don't think ET will take the two years cause he wants that last payday at 4 yrs then retire.

Agreed, I get it from the player perspective.
But owners are CAPPED, then INCREASE the CAP even more.
Increase the CAP, I would be FINE, PA could easily afford it.

But currently, the CAP is SET, and What IF Earl gets hurt in year ONE?

Sure, and that is WHY a regular Joe cannot afford to go to a game.

Earl Making another 15 Million over a career, backed up by his previous $60 already earned? Screw that.

Those numbers above only estimate. I apologize for the estimate. But, when is enough enough?

That's the thing, the FO can not worry about people getting injured.

The popularity of the sport is what drives up the prices.

Yes

He was playing at a high level.

Sure, but at an injury risk!

If we sign ET to a 4 year extension, what is the probability that Earl PLAYS all 4 years at an All-Pro Level?

Or does it NOT matter?
