Husker baseball gets going Friday. They'll be coming off of their first Big 10 regular season championship.

They are not in the pre-season Top 25 so lots of work to do.

Losing Meyers hurt me. You can't replace somebody with that kind of hustle and motivation.

I've been reading that Alvarado could actually be the Friday starter. Shows you how much this staff thinks of his ability when he goes from your closer last year to your potential ace.

Sure wish this team could mix in some power at the plate for a change

I've always thought Alvarado was a great talent. He was an impact player his first year.

UC Riverside beat Washington St 8-1 in the early game.
Neither UC Riverside or Washington St have been tourney teams for years, so these are necessary wins early.
Gonna need about 35 total to make the tournament.
