It's from Firestone Walker. It's a black rye IPA. So good. Not sure if it's seasonal, but I can usually find it around here most of the year.

Where are you?

Sweet Water Happy Ending

NYC. They probably have it up here, but this market is wonky...you have to find JUST the right store or bodega, and then if it's a popular brand they always sell out of it quickly.

Wookey Jack is my favorite black IPA.
+1 on the Wookey.

Back in Black is an OK one that I'd guess is easy to find. It is here, at least.

Most are too hoppy for my taste, I prefer the EPA's

I remembered this quote and asked last night at the local liquor store about EPAs. They had no idea what an EPA was and called you a fucking asshole. I thought it was a bit uncalled for but I made my IPA purchase and went on my way.

Just curious. I just started getting into it over the last few months.
Not a bad hobby to get into. You can get rather toasted at private brewery parties, sampling everything. There's just a lot to choose from and settle on something you'd buy regularly. I'm getting more into spirits but in the winter I enjoy Mad Elf.

I went to Target trying to get some black IPA and they sold out and had a Tasmanian IPA and a Rye IPA instead. I had the TIPA last year after a hipster said it was one of his favorite beers but it was just too heavy for me with flavors that weren't quite what I was looking for.

So I went for the Rye IPA and its great but I'm not sure I have the palate for beer reviews. I think its somewhere in the same ballpark as a Boulvard Tank 7 Farmhouse but thats not an IPA so...I guess I just like beer. The Rye IPA had a bit more satisfying flavor to it but if you blindfolded me I'm not 100% I'd get it right.

I'm going to keep an eye out for Dark Penance and Wookey Jack. I think I've seen the latter but I'm not sure I've seen the Dark Penance.

Wookey Jack is my favorite as well. Better stock up as it's being discontinued as a year round beer

They recently started selling Bell's Two Hearted at supermarkets in Texas, so I have been sampling that of late.

Still a very solid beer.
