I'll kick it off with a couple signings that are close to being done.

So far so good... now Holland just needs to pull a dirt cheap contract for Modano out of his ass, and we're golden.

See that! Mikey Modano could indeed make the Wings younger, on D that is. These kids all need to play with Nick as much as possible before the legend laces em up for the last time.

At first, I was against the Modano signing, but the more time passes, the more I am for it.
I think it would be a great signing and an asset.
The only thing I don't like about it is the potential loss of Ritola or a different forward.
I actually wish Draper would retire so that it would free up a spot for Ritola. I know that the cap hit would remain but we would no longer have the need for him to be a healthy scratch or 4th line player.

I totally agree with you. There a more than enough players that can be counted on to take that tough draw or kill a huge penalty. Tough situation though, you know those players learned a hell of a lot from him and he is just liked so much by everybody.

Now with the Sharks in the mix for Modano, nothing will probably happen until Kovy makes his move. I'm sure the Sharks have some interest in seeing what the Kings are gonna do. I think if Kovy goes to LA then the Sharks might pursue Mike a little harder, imo. It just feels like Kovy is holding up all kinds of shit.

now we just need Abdelkader to sign and Draper to retire.

Babs is familiar with him and likes him. Should be a solid 3 pair on D. Only concern is he is another guy coming off a back injury.
