I have to wonder if any offer other than Pittsburgh came in. I doubt it.

So, Pittsburgh took a guy we'd likely never have to see again and kept him in the league for 5 years.

Total Lou move. I love Lou but his approach is antiquated. Rather than make a splash to compliment Barzal and company or fully commit to a rebuild he'll keep making patchwork moves that don't help at all in the long term.

Yeah I'm hoping for SJ or Vegas personally lol. Getting both Karlsson and ROR out of the division in the same week as us bringing in JT and TB or Boston not making any significant moves is pretty much as perfect a week as I could ever envision.

Cant see EK going to Tampa. That would mean TB has over $25M per tied up in 3 defensemen (after the new deal for EK). Seems like way too much of the cap space tied up, esp with Stamkos, Palat, Miller, Johnson and Killorn using up another $34M. Thats 8 players and about $60M of cap used.

My guess is they buyout Callahan next summer which will save them $3 mil that season, Johnson's contract is tradeable, I'm sure they could work something out for Palat if they had to, and they have a bunch of prospects to fill the gaps.

Tough, but they could definitely do it (thus why they were in on JT).
