lol are you saying Fitz is a bad pick for us at #13?

Dean, I love how you try and deal in absolutes.

Would Fitz be a bad pick?? NO. Would he be a great pick?? Well thats going to depend on who is still on the board, and what else the team does. Case in point, if we draft Fitz, and roll with Hood and Taylor penciled in as key parts of the D-line... well I for one think that would be bone headed. Sure Fitz might make the Pro Bowl, and hell you can stack DROY on top of that. But if this defense is still scrapping the bottom when it comes to stopping the run and getting pass rush... Yes it was a bad pick because the defense in that case didnt improve despite Fitz having a great individual year.

Skins should just resign Breeland and draft Payne at #13.

Or resign Breeland move back and draft Payne and Guice. Thats what they should do..

BTW I'd prefer Guice over Vea at 13 the more I think about it. Payne is still my top choice though.

Not at all. I am just stating that your opinion on the subject has absolutely no impact on how the Redskins will draft (ditto for all of us).

I always said we needed a safety and was fine with FB and DUnbar

So you are OK with two backups at CB that you FULLY expect to be able to step up and do the damn thing. But Nicholson who actually started and produced... should be made a backup so we can draft Fitz??

Do I need to search engine ? You have minkah listed as slot cb and safety when you are making the case for drafting minkah because of his versitility over a d/ lineman and when making the case that the ASS trade was good you made the case that FM and hosley
And Dunbar can cover the slot

One of these things you are backtracking on

I know that you do as do some others here. However I have my doubts about some folks here. Example - that stupid recent thread about trading for Barkley. Several of the posts portrayed it as if this was a real possibility which is absurd.

I said Fitz can do both. I like his versatility. Usually those guys don't slip very far in the draft.

Like I said before Fitz can play anywhere. Im not going to pass him up b/c we have Nichlson on our team. That is just foolish.

I believe Dunbar and FM can step up. what does that have to do with drafting Fitz? Just b/c we have Nichlson and Swearinger doesn't mean we are "all set" at safety.

you listed fitz as a slot when you were trying to sell this , a position you said was ok when justifying the ASS trade , now you are saying he is just a safety ? which means shark is right on that too , you want a safety over a d/lineman

backtracking to suit your purpose with no conviction or core values yet again

Dean, every year around draft time, you fall madly in love with some player that goes totally against what would be best for the team. When we needed O-line, you had a man crush on a D-lineman. When we needed Dbs, you were all over the O-line. Now you were pimping Moreau and Dunbar. You want to make NIcholson into a backup despite him having a good year when thrust into a starting roll a wekk before the season started.

Fitz is your yearly man crush, Fitz is your

I would also argue the FO has NOT done enough to improve our DL prior to the draft since it really needs a surge of talent outside Allen & Ioanidis. If we only add Vea or Payne, it won't be enough imo. Had we signed Hankins and Fitz was available at 13, I would say go for it. Hankins may come after the draft but we cannot assume that and must address the trenches first. Heck, had we signed Hankins, I probably wouldn't mind Edmunds at 13 either to upgrade our ILB position. Foster becomes quality depth as well. Let's see how this shakes out...
