Saw the newer version of 3:10 to Yuma (Bale)

The strength of the movie is definitely its cast and the constant test of morality. The plot in the third act almost doesn't make any sense at first blush but you get enough clues throughout the movie for it to all add up. I think my only complaint is that the start of the movie spoils you with a good action scene and the ones near the end just seem procedural to get the movie to its final moments.

The Foreigner 5/10

Sorry Jackie Chan and Pierce Bronsman, (what a dynamic duo!) this movie was a cure for insomnia.

I never realized until now that I need a little humor with my Jackie. He just can’t pull off the Liam Nelson vengeful father role.

Mission Impossible Fallout. Didn’t expect to like this one as much as I did. Awesome action, especially in IMAX. Some of the best I’ve seen since Mad Max.

Super Troopers 2 - Not quite as good as the first one but if you enjoyed that you'll enjoy this one. 3 out of 5 stars

Ben Foster stole all the scenes he was in. "Or you will burn..." I'd give that film a solid 6.5 or so. I'd consider re-watching it, and I'm not a HUGE fan of Westerns... so that's pretty good.

I thought the first one was stupid. The opening scene with the shrooms is all anyone seems to remember. I don't think I ever watched that film from beginning to end but it just hit the timing perfectly. Raunchy comedy wasn't necessarily a huge thing in the 90s but re-surged when American Pie hit the theaters. I think if Super Troopers came out today it'd be mostly ignored.

I started watching The Last Jedi on Netflix last night, think I still have an hour to go.
I can't stand how they treat space warface like WWII and the whole concept of the rebel bombers was just insanely stupid. Gravity weapons in space??
Story was only OK, and I hated the cute little birds at first sight.
I am curious about the Kylo-Rey link and am actually looking forward to watching the rest of the movie to see where they take it.
The return of Mark Hamill confirms for me that he just is not a very good actor, but it was still fun to see him.

Oh don't worry... Disney's Kathleen 'Darth' Kennedy makes sure that any interesting twists are scrapped right out and replaced with a full dosage of SJW/feminism in the second half. Enjoy!

Saw Super Troopers 2 and Ready Player One.

SuperTroopers 2 has some funny moments, but easily falls very flat in comparison to the first. 5/10

Ready Player One... originally had no intentions of seeing this as it just didn't look that enticing. However, it was MUCH better than I thought it was going to be. I found myself relishing in the pop culture references throughout the film. 8/10

Oh Yeah, I also saw Mission Impossible Fallout... it is good. I feel that I would have to watch the last one again to truly be able to compare the stories and ensure it all fits properly, but for what it was it was good. 8.5/10

Double Indemnity: 3/5 stars. I'm not the hugest fan of "dead guy telling the story through flashbacks" but this one was at least better than Billy Wilder's other movie that used the same device, Sunset Boulevard (2/5 stars).

Planet of the Apes (1968): 3/5 stars. Pretty good, but nothing great and I'm ambivalent on the ending. I was pretty shocked at the plot of the film and the obvious parallels that would be drawn from the movie. I wouldn't have thought 1968 was ready for such heresy.

Ex Machina

I THOUGHT I had the movie figured out in the first 15 mins, but the twist I was expecting never came. Kudos for not going that route.

I thought Poe Dameron was the actual AI that Admiral Hux was unknowingly testing

The movie was also much darker than I was expecting. But done well. A sequel probably would not be done well, but I would be interested in seeing it anyway. It could be done in a more lighthearted manner.

7.5/10

IT. I liked the cast. Pennywise looked cool. No suspense and not scary. 6/10.

This was chapter 1. How many chapters will this be?
