Only 34 home games left and the Reds are apparently telling Scooter they want to keep him, according to Scooter. Part of that was hinted at the other day when the Reds said they wanted to keep people who had been a magnet for fans.

That is all pretty bogus but I think Scoots will sign a deal, some fans will love it and the experts will say it's stupid.

Dilson is likely gone.

Senzel may end up in the outfield.

This is currently not a bad team and is, in fact, relevant.

I see where they put Scott Schebler on the DL, going back to the 15th. He could be back by the middle of next week.

At this pace, a 75-win season is possible.
Will be interesting to see how they manage the pitching the last month. A couple of starts from Reed or Stephenson will reduce the need to cut back on Castillo's innings. I don't think Romano or Mahle will go much over their 2017 numbers even if they aren't controlled.

The Harvey trade is looming.

I think Duvall won't be dealt now.

The Harvey trade is looming.

He is do to start Sundays game, It might be Bailey's start instead. Wow, that has a depressing sound to it.

I hope they can continue the pace that they have had, before the All Star break. Some times a team will lose all their momentum when they have that time off

Parrots are facing the same thing.
Dunno ... Homer's last few Bat-starts were OK. I doubt he's as good as Harvey has been.

for what reason would they start a home game after a 3 hour rain delay? There might have been a few fans there at the end of the game but that's it. And then take a 12 to 1 spanking with it..
They didn't want to make it up with a double hitter is probably it. So they make the players and fans stay up half the night

I think that Hall of Fame weekend had so many events imbedded that they couldn't afford to mix in a doubleheader with the Homer Bailey mess in the middle of it.

What frosts me is that they seem to think Jackson Stephens is anything else but just like the shit relievers they had for the last 3 years.

Red vs Pirates, Pirates 27 runs, Reds 5 runs... Reds starting Pitching didn't show up .... So are they returning to April form?

It's like someone forgot to hit the save button before shutting down for the break. When they rebooted it became April all over again

Nothing solidifies last place more than getting swept by the team you're trying to pass.

The Reds were completely out matched.. I hope this doesn't extend into the St Louis series. But I have my doubts , The Starting Pitching has been Just bad. And not scoring runs either

Having trouble falling asleep?
Watch the Reds offense.

No-hit for 7+ was more than enough to put me to sleep.

Along with that telethon yes.

I'm not the pitching expert that you guys are (at least I hope I'm talking to more than one person. No offense Hit-n-Run), But I thought the Reds hitter were way to aggressive. They were swinging at a lot of pitches out of the strike zone. There a lot of pop ups, He didn't strike out many 3, but he got the job none. With a lot of help from the Reds. I was disappointed when they took him out, but I don't think he would have lasted another inning

I hope you didn't sleep through that ninth inning

To Poncedeleon's credit he threw a lot of 1st pitch strikes the 1st time through the order. I think Barnhart was the first batter he didn't get ahead of and he walked him.

Poncedeleon had a pretty high BB/9 this season in AAA and you'd think the Reds would have wanted to see more pitches. Early on he got ahead in the count and the Reds didn't help themselves by chasing the high fastballs.

The Poncedeleon comeback from a devastating injury to a 7 IP no-hit debut is a great story. The kid didn't get to enjoy it for long. The Cards optioned him back to AAA.

It's a new day, but the same story. The Reds are being no-hit through 6 innings by a pitcher making his 1st MLB start. Gomber has pitched as a reliever, but this is his 1st MLB start.

I thought Riggleman made a huge mistake not walking Munoz with Gomber on deck in the top of the 7th. That second run is huge when you're struggling like the Reds are.

I was pleased with Baileys performance, Outside of that the Reds need to start hitting and scoring some runs. I'm afraid that this team will soon get a no hitter against them if they keep going this way , Could be today,

A guy pitches 7 innings of No hit ball and gets sent to AAA, Wow. I wonder what they are going to do with Gomber?

Needless to say the Cardinals are deeper than the Reds in SP options. They have Martinez, Wacha, and Wainwright on the DL and got 6 no-hit innings from the #9 guy on their depth chart.

By the time you get to the Reds #9 guy you're looking at Cody Reed or worse.
