After "playing hardball" with the 76ers and being unable to get any trade done to further bolster the Celtics' frontcourt, Ainge was forced to release R.J. Hunter, a 2015 1st round draft pick.

The fact that he was unable to see his own lack of leverage in trade negotiations is hilarious to me. Especially since the 76ers were told how they had no leverage, needed to trade a big man prior to this season, and were expected to trade Noel/Okafor to the Celtics for virtually nothing. Lo and behold, Noel goes down and will need surgery. Now, holding on to 3 centers is starting to look pretty wise for the 76ers. Injuries happen, especially to 7 foot basketball players.

Anyway, I hope the 76ers pick up Hunter. Just because. I mean, they could use a guard, especially one who can shoot. But it would also make me happy for them to be able to pick up a player that Ainge was forced to release.
