Martin served it up right down Broadway. DDJ might have been able to take that one yard.

Oh, the joys of minor league baseball. I thought you guys might get a kick out of the story behind the lineup for Round Rock last night. This is from Scott Lucas.

"Hoo boy, what a mess. With Scott Heineman on the temporary inactive list and optioned Willie Calhoun not yet available, the Express began the night with nine active position players, three of them catchers who rarely venture beyond the plate. So, the starting outfield was:

LF James Jones, making his second OF start since converting to relief in late 2016
CF Nick Torres, always an outfielder but never in center in 444 previous games
RF Christian Lopes, normally an infielder, making his second career OF start

In the 2nd, 3B Andy Ibanez accidentally rolled Jones' ankle tracking a shallow fly. As Jones limped off with assistance from the trainer, Lopes switched to left and reliever Brady Feigl manned right for the rest of that inning and the 3rd. In the 4th, catcher Carlos Perez took over first (his 6th appearance there in 11 seasons), and 1B Hanser Alberto shifted to right for only the second time in his career."

Joey is building my confidence.

Heard his launch angle has flattened a little. Good to see him drive it the opposite way

Chi Chi pitched 2 innings last night and struck out 2 while not allowing either a hit or a walk.

Anyone notice Tocci does not go for the fences and gets quite a few ground ball base hits. Take notice center fielder. As we see another shot at a shutdown look to evaporate

There for a while we had several boards that closed including Rivals, ESPN, BBTIA, and CBS that sent some guys over. Haven’t been much of that lately, and combine that with the team stinking a lot lately and you’re not going to see new guys flooding in. Most sports fans are fair weather so when you see the team on the upswing I think you’ll see more posters. That said, I don’t want to see this place die in the mean time either.

I haven’t had much time to think about it but I do try to keep my eyes peeled for new opportunities to bring new posters in. I think part of the problem is baseball hasn’t taken a huge foothold in Texas historically like it has in other parts of the country so that fandom isn’t sustained during leaner years. I wonder how many “Ranger fans” from 2009-2013 are suddenly “Astros fans” now?
I really cannot stand fans that do that. Kind of like how many Chicago Bulls fans are there once Jordan retired. No double dipping a team. Pick a team and stick with them.

The team lineup minus Gallardo looks like what we may open 2029 with. CF is a coin flip at this point

Honestly, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if it's the exact same or major changes are made.

Plenty of LHbats. Not a sin to move one if we can get value
