What we know now is that this isn't much of a rotation, and the bullpen isn't lights out. The Reds keep boasting about the offense but it's showing some kinks too.

It was good to see the ovation for Phillips last night. It was also good to see Arroyo go 6 innings and only giving up 2 runs
It was pretty frustrating to watch the offense the 1st 8 innings and IMO, the call 3rd strikes that were 1 to 3 inches outside or inside.
It was great to see Mesoraco's walk off homerun.
I don't think the bullpen is as solid as they think it is either, but so far they are better than last year. I still have faith in the offence , at least they are getting hits with runners in scoring position. Something that they haven't none consistently for a few years
I don't believe the Reds are a playoff contender, I am still hoping for a 500 season.
I am wondering what is going to happened with Cozart? Does anyone here believe the Reds might end up keeping him. I'm sure "he's not part of the Reds plans"

I think Cozart is having a year that confounds the experts. It's outside his baseball card, so to speak.
I am also hoping he isn't roiding. Doesn't seem the sort but guys who were hurt sometimes try to sneak one past the system.
Reds keep hoping Cingrani will be back soon to stabilize the pen. I don't agree with that thinking at all. We have a Loogy. Peralta.
When the naive begin to realize that the "guys who are coming back" are the one-legged soldiers from the great war, they might start to shift in the sand a little. Cincy HAS to find a couple of quality starters soon. Meaning this winter.

Cozart is the perfect sell high. He's a free agent next year anyways. The rumors should be flooding in following the ASB.

I don't know how frequently they do these random test, but I read where Eric Thames has been tested 6 times this season. He says he gets tested after every homerun he hits anymore. Like John said, if Cozart is Juicing he won't get away with it. Or anyone else on the Reds. It seems Homeruns draws the eye of the random testers. And IMO that's the way it should be.

I guess that the book is out on Garrett, and they found a lot. It's been an ugly week for the Reds

Just noticed the "crowd" for the first game against the Cards. Man, used to be there were 30,000-plus there. Doesn't look like they can give tix away now.

Cincy is going to probably deal Cozart soon. Even if he hits like this, they are (a.) not going to pay him and (b.) want to insist that Herrera is going to play 2B. Personally, I'd slide Suarez back to SS and give the 3B job to Senzel.

Anybody remember Art Shamsky?
He hit 4 in a row in separate games -- around 1966.

4 homeruns including a grand slam. !0 RBI's , and 5 hits. by Scooter. I wasn't expecting that. He has something
to tell his grand kids someday.

Tim Adleman may be the ace of the staff at this point of the season. 1 run on 3 hits through 7 innings

I'd like to see the Reds do something for the fans for once, and resign Zack Cozart. If St Louis can sign Yadier Molina who is nearing the end of his career, why can't the Reds sign Cozart who is only 31 and having the best year of his career. I would be shocked if they did, but I'd like to see it

Anybody remember Art Shamsky

I remember the Reds trading Art Shamsky to New York for Bob Johnson and two months later the Bengals drafted Bob Johnson in New York.

The Bengals Bob Johnson was a good player..... the Reds Bob Johnson, not so much.
