I've watched a few episodes. I first ran into it before or after John Oliver... I forget which. It's not bad.

this is kind of where I am right now. Are they really all this stupid? How am I supposed to like them? Is the stupid nephew the hero?

I'm going to keep watching, but what the fuck is so addicting about this?

Who doesn't love it when rich people have bad things happen to them???
Even other rich people love to see their ilk get taken down.

I don't think any of them are stupid. They are all narcissists. Even Cousin Greg isn't stupid. But he really wants to live the Roy life so he will do anything to stay in it.

The show is hilarious satire.

Tom is a sycophant. He's very much aware of what he is doing. Tom's failure are because A) He loves a shitty woman and B) He wants the glory, power, and money of being a Roy. So he's willing to do just about anything to keep that.

Tom and Cousin Greg were like the comic relief, but each had their own agenda.

Season 1 focused on Logan crushing Kendall.
Season 2 focused on Logan crushing Shiv.
I can only imagine that Season 3 will be Logan crushing Roman, but Roman might be naive enough to escape some of that, especially if he has protection with Gerry.

I also like Billions.
Both of these shows center around the same type of power-hungry characters, but each has distinctive feel with plenty of plot twists/backstabbing.

I agree but also they highlight the absurdity of the family.

I get it, but if I worked for him, I'd think he was an idiot

That's part of his charm.
He's the midwestern farmboy who clearly doesn't fit into this family.
The harder he tries to 'Loganize' himself, the more out of place he becomes.

Exactly. He's completely out of his league and the sharks just constantly are tearing him apart, with Shiv being the main shark tearing at his carcass.

remember I have only seen 2 episodes

I get that he wants to be accepted by Logan and really wants to be part of the family. Same I guess goes for the nephew, just from a different angle...even though both are being forced upon the family.

Love this show and episode 1 of season 3 didn't disappoint. I should probably go back and binge from the beginning to catch ones I haven't seen. I've probably only seen 10-12 episodes of the 20 from the first 2 seasons.

I haven't watched this last season, or half season or whatever of Billions, and haven't watched the first episode of this season here. But I love watching these together, they fit so well together that it seems you're meant to watch them that way. But it's also funny watching the obvious bias of the writers/creators as in one show the rich upper class types can do no wrong. No matter how terrible they act it's viewed and portrayed through this veneer of hero worship. While in the other show, no matter how good the intentions or even actual actions it's viewed and portrayed with such an air of disdain and just a continuous sneer that makes even a serious drama show come across as pure satire. It really highlights for me how different actions can look just based on your viewpoint. The combination of the two shows both examines and explains the current political atmosphere
