I wonder how much Ford ponied up?
Wow, hard to imagine Tony running Fords. Didn't he bolt from JGR because he wanted to get back to Chevy instead of the Toyotas that Gibbs was running?
Yes, his comments were something along the line of;
"Joe Gibbs never asked me if I wanted to drive a Toyota. I only drive Chevy's!".
And the next year he was (semi) independent.
That's all it comes down to. If I was a team owner, there is no way in hell I would rather run Roush/Yates motors over Hendrick motors if it was strictly my money.
He did, Ford threw an offer at him that he couldn't refuse.This move shocked me. I thought he had a really good thing going with Hendrick.

It is shocking, with the way Roush cars have been running, not sure I would switch. But Penske has been running solid. I would say has a lot to do with $$$$
