They're 7 games out of the division and 6 games back of the second wild card with 43 games left.

That's a lot of games to make up on their own, and two teams are ahead of them in the division race, 5 are ahead of them for the second wild card.

They're gonna need to go on a hell of a run to make it at this point. They won something like 18 of 22 at one point this season when they briefly took a half game lead in the division, so it's possible they could go on one again, but from what I've seen, it isn't likely.

Too soon imo...all 3 teams have relatively tough schedules the rest of the season, so anyone could struggle and easily lose/gain ground...



Braves - 37 of their last 44 games are vs teams .500+
Phillies - 24 of last 44 games vs .500+ teams
Nats - 27 of last 42 games vs .500+ teams, although those 15 games vs losing teams are all against the Mets/Marlins

I didn't say a thing about the Braves making the playoffs. If they're gonna win the division, they're gonna need both the Braves and Phillies to collapse. It's certainly possible for one, pretty unlikely for both.

And the division is their best shot IMO. Too many teams to pass in the wild card.

Their pitching just isnt as good as it has been relative to the rest of the league. Their ERA is 3.87 this year which is 13th in MLB. Last year their ERA was 3.88 which was good for 6th in MLB. They were 2nd in ERA the year before.

I dont follow the Nats too closely but it seems like you can always attack their bullpen.

But the playoffs are a Crap shoot where laughably inferior teams can get hot for 10-15 games and win something.
