Saffold's deal not as good as we had hoped.

10:33 a.m. -- Rodger Saffold is reportedly heading back to the Rams on a five-year, $31.7M deal, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. He failed his physical with the Raiders earlier in the week.

O.K. 6.34 mill per is more than the 4 mill originally thought. Is that not what the Rams originally offered before Saffold left for Oakland?

It's ballpark, however if he gets hurt we pay him less. With Saffold if he plays all 16 games he's worth every penny. And if he doesn't we keep those pennies. I'm ok with it

How do you know this? Did you see the actual wording of his contract somewhere? I did see that he has the right to void his contract after year 3. But I didn't see anything about pay per health. Please enlighten me.

Yes, I read that there were provisions in the contract much like Jake Longs. Remember?

Saffold signed a five-year, $31.5 million deal with $19.5 million guaranteed.

Don't like the guaranteed amount since it's more than they gave Long (16M).

I like that they got Saffold to sign, but maybe they acted too hastily after the Oakland fiasco and paid more than they should've.

Only time will tell. If he stays healthy for a few years playing guard, it will be great. If he continues to get injured, it will be a terrible deal.
