The curious case of Alex Smith and the NFL Top 100 list

now i dont buy he is a top 11 player in the NFL , however he shouldnt be snubbed out of the whole thing with the season he had last season

interesting to see whats up

Derek Carr at #60 is all you need to know about that top 100 list.

The guy may have been the 20th best QB in the NFL let alone 60 in the top 100

He IMO is by far the most grossly overrated player in the NFL while Cousins or Kerrigan are the most underrated players.

Kerrigan is criminally underrated

Top 100 is based on players projection for upcoming season I suspect. WTFK's anyway or cares. List is bias anyway.

Yep - no way that it is based wholly on past season since several players on that list (Watt, Beckham, etc) missed all or most of last season.

Alex wasn’t in the top 100? Yeah, I question that. He had a helluva season.
Pretty sure AS had the best season stats wise of any QB in the NFL last year, yeah, I would question that as well. I don't believe any of last year's stats will translate to anything Redskins this year because AS is in yet another offensive system, a new HC, a new team with unfamiliar surroundings. Like any year, AS will be called upon to prove himself once again and ironically, I'm ok with that.

While saying Smith is in another system is true the guy is a vet and probably more advanced than Cousin's at picking up a new system. I would still prefer to have our former QB but Jay being a good offensive coach will work to find out what Smith likes and tailor plays to his skillset. He did the same with Cousin's. Now the question is there were some plays or concepts that Cousin's didn't like and was more hesitant to try. Will the same happen with Smith? It will be interesting to see as time goes by.

If you're going off last seasons production sure, but i doubt Smith is really a top 100 player in the NFL.

Well - the list is complete & Rodgers came in # 10 while Wentz was #3. What a freaking joke. This list is meaningless. As for Smith - who cares - all that matters is how he does next season & really none us know how that will unfold (regardless of whether some folks here feel that they know everything).
