He's right
Still don't like to hear him whining about it. I'd play Center Field for the Giants right now for the salary I make now. They might not like the product they get but I'd play for my salary in a heart beat.

He's right. I know he gets a lot of money for playing baseball. All the stars probably do. Still 162 games is way to many games to play. I like a 144 game season; 12 games vs. your 4 divisional rivals, 8 games vs. the 10 teams in your league. Remaining 16 games vs. teams in the opposite league.

I agree to an extent.. IE playing games when it is 20 below and snowing to start the season, that's a little much... But it will never change since it is a money maker... Once the money goes (which it won't) then maybe the games will be reduced

I can agree to an extent, 162 is a bit unnecessarily long IMO. I wouldn't be opposed to cutting the first half or so of April, at least then we'd be less likely to see the kind of weather BS we've seen over the last few days.

Yep. Starting the season last Thursday would be my preference. 2nd week of April and likely only dealing with shitty winter weather for 1 week instead of 3+ weeks when starting the year in late March

He is right. But that will never happen. There will never be enough players who would conceded to reducing their currently contracted or league minimum salaries, to get this done.

Basically, this would require about a 1/8th haircut by the players.

They start the spring training in Feb. now because they have 239 guys who want to get a chance to try out for the team. They play on Halloween now if they are good enough. The money isn't really a conversation point with me.

But if he wants to lop off 8 games or 2 weeks, it's going to maybe **maybe** matter. I hope to hell the team that finishes 2 games out wouldn't say, "gee until this year, we had a chance to catch those guys."

This is a freak spring. It's often chilly in April. This too shall pass. Hell, my team is already eliminated and it's not even May yet, so a 18-game schedule was just right for me.

Detroit Tigers will NOT make the playoffs and it's quite obvious how shitty they are. They are so bad, they will finish with worse record than Rangers. Any sane person knows this. Except for sissies.

I feel your pain.
