the feel good angle makes me want to puke, but the kid can play. he looks like a better player than his brother.

Agreed. The feel good story is a terrible reason to draft a player. The fact he can play like he can is why I like the pick.

I'm really glad they didn't feel the need to cover the highlights with really bad music.
It's almost always garbage rap, so my default is to mute the sound.

At least this year we have a positive story to focus on and not the ridiculous political crap like last year.

if Shaquem can make team, these young men are going to make a huge pile of money from endorsement deals.

I agree. I just wanted to make it known I agreed with Snuggles' point (maybe not the over the top puking thing, but overall). I think Griffin was drafted for skill, not because he's got a great story in his journey to this point. The story is just icing on the cake.

What I think he brings to the team which is above numbers and making plays. Having someone on this team with that story will bring a level of camaraderie that would be great for everyone. I think the reason why UCF was so good was because they were looked at as under dogs and their most influential player was him.

Imagine being on the seahawks and watching this kid out work you, out hustle you, and out play you. Anytime he makes a play that whole defense will go crazy, when we play at home and shaq gets a sack quest field will ERUPT that place will go crazy for him. We got rid of the players that were a distraction and we brought him in now this team seems to have a level of togetherness and not entitled players looking to get paid and holding out

I 100% agree... and this team needs the camaraderie and positive atmosphere after Sherman/Bennett did their best to ruin it.

Count me in as someone who isn’t interested in the the feel good vibe, but like the move based on skill.

It's not really an either/or situation.

Excited to see this guy play. Malcolm Smith carved out a nice role in Pete's defense, I look forward to Shaquem trying to put his spin on that position.

Of course not. But I'm just comparing it to what we just came off of. Last year was a drag. I much prefer this over that. That's all I'm saying.

I was really hoping we'd draft this guy and I'm really glad we did. I think Shaquem is gonna have a great career. He's one of those players you just can't help but love. He hasn't let his birth defect slow him down to achieve what many thought he wasn't gonna be able to do. He's an inspiration for all the little kids out there. Welcome to the 12s!!!

Had we drafted him in the 3rd round it would have been for the story, but the fact we got him in the 5th says he got overlooked due to his hand. This to me goes from a story pick to quite possibly a steal pick when this team needed it the most.

I'm not sure if someone has already thought of this and posted, but I REALLY hope Maxwell takes this kid under his arm and teaches him the punch out. B-Max has great power when punching the ball from a runners arms, but straight bone is harder than any fist Peanut Tillman could have even clinched. If he learns that trade get used to hearing "Quem" with the strip and "Quill" with the scoop and score!

When Griffin was four years old, his parents discovered him planning to amputate his fingers to alleviate excruciating pain. His parents scheduled an amputation of his entire left hand the next day.

How did Shaquem Griffin lose his hand?

You're talking about 2 different positions. Byron Maxwell is a corner and Shaquem Griffin is a LB
