A one-hopper, hit hard, right at Phillips who doesn't field it.
Scorer calls it a hit.

Pittsburgh is legendary for that.

No WAY is that a base hit.

He was shading the right, and backhanded toward the middle. Supposition as to how many people would have even gotten a glove on it- Walker wouldn't have...and at home, all that adds up to a hit. I've seen Votto boot the ball at home with the same hit call. Defense in pro ball get a lot of breaks.
