Preds Rookies Shut Down Panthers, 3-1; Preds Rookies Sweep Two Game Tourney

Craig Smith continued his rookie tournament dominance with two more goals as the Nashville Predators rookies earned a 3-1 win over the Florida Panthers rookies on Tuesday afternoon in Coral Springs, Florida. The Preds swept their two-game round-robin tournament, out scoring the Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning rookies by a combined 10-4 margin. Smith was the star of the tournament finishing the two games with six goals and one assist.

Smith, Beck, Bourque Lead Preds to Rookie Game Win Over Tampa Bay

Craig Smith scored four goals, including a natural hat trick in a 8:03 span covering the end of the first period and start to the second period, as the Nashville Predators rookies picked up a 7-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning rookie squad on Monday night in Coral Springs, Florida.

Nashville's line of Smith with Taylor Beck and Gabriel Bourque was dominant, combining to contribute five goals and eight assists on the night. Beck opened the game's scoring 10 seconds in the first period and notched the primary assist on three of Smith's four goals on the game. Bourque dished out four assists on the night. Smith complimented his four goals with an assist on Smith's goal.
