The man had two Achilles surgeries one on each foot. Goodwin is a freakin olympic sprinter in 2016 there is no way he was gonna cover him. Shermans game was always figuring out the route and tendencies of a receiver and having everything planned and covered through hours of game film. He was never an athletic specimen like a Patrick Peterson.

With that being said he will lose a step but he will be a solid player for the 49ers. Definitely not worth the salary we needed to pay him

I have to totally re-evaluate how I feel about the Hawks. For years I couldn't stand them, and that was because of Richard Sherman and a really bad guy in Michael Bennett. Now that they are gone I have no reason to hate, and I can openly root for Russell Wilson who I really like.

I'm a big Wilson guy too. 3rd round pick who was 3rd on the depth charge and ended up the opening day starter. You have to love stories like that.

We didn't have that last year either when Sherman was playing... He definitely was on a decline prior to his injury...

I've been rewatching games from last season, and let me suggest that your memory this time is a bit faulty. Teams routinely, especially in the first half of the season, didn't even test him.

Again, I'm fine with him being gone, probably time to move on anyway.

But other than the two games against us, I'll root for him to succeed.

I'm still pissed at him for the Patriots Superbowl. I had the halftime score for the pool ($7000) with 38 seconds left. Wilson marched them right down the field for a TD. Other than that I love the guy.

Sure, but that's a pretty high bar, that he set... himself.

So by his own standards, he wasn't quite as good. It's not like he fell of a Revis sized cliff or anything.

I wish him all the best. The guy gave us 100% every game and helped the franchise get their first title. It'll be nice to see him in the Hawks RoF one day.
