Rain Gear?

I need some new rain gear. Any suggestions. I'd prefer it lightweight as possible but still actually waterproof. I have cold weather waterproof stuff but nothing for spring,summer, fall. Right now if it rains I use some shitty northface thing that isn't close to being water proof and it doesn't have vents so I usually end up stinking and wet instead of just wet. Thanks.
