Proof that Nascar needs to get rid of the west coast races

I wouldn't really say Phoenix and Auto Club are cookie cutters. I don't mind watching the Phoenix races but those races at Auto Club Speedway are usually cures for insomnia.

Phoenix isn't cookie cutter.

Auto Club is a ripoff of Michigan. So, generally deemed cookie cutter of the 2 mile variety, but it's not cookie cutter of Charlotte/Atlanta like Texas, Chicagoland, Kansas, etc.

Biggest problem with Auto Club is they took a date from Darlington for that race, and it's pretty much boring as hell to watch while Darlington is always exciting.

It's not a very good track for stock cars.

But, I still like that they race there and don't want to see it go. I only get annoyed when they try to compare it to the tradition of the Indy500. It's not the Indy 500, it's not at all equal to that race, I don't give a crap how many laps a nascar driver has done vs an Indy driver. It's not the same prestige no matter how much they want to push that crap.

I gained a ton of respect for Gordon recently when he made that same distinction in an interview where the interviewer tried to act like his wins compared to Indy 500 winners.

Truth be told I also dislike Monaco GP in F1.
