Preseason is sad enough..... Game 4 of preseason is ridiculous. Does a coach really care that their 7th year kick returner can put up 80 yards in a game against guys that are trying to make a practice squad? Why does Tate need to play on offense at all? You already have plenty of data to suggest that he's not a candidate for anything more than kick return. Does our ST specialist really have to practice carrying the football? If we lost our top 2 running backs, we'd likely just hit the waiver wire for a guy that could back-up our 3rd guy (Grossman).... Yet, every year, Peerman spends his August putting up rushing numbers. It just doesn't make much sense.

No one got hurt, and that's all that really matters.

Center position, not quarterback will be what holds the offense back

It is a little disconserting that Bodine looks even worse than he did last year.

It can't be that hard to find a competent center. It just can't be.

What am I saying? It's the Cincinnati fucking Bengals.

It looked like the guards were getting beat like drums last night to me. Bodine was working with the second team around him, and our backup guards may be the worst in the NFL (granted I did see him get beat a couple times one on one). The guards remind me of that Gutcheck (yes I know I spelled his name wrong on purpose) we drafted to be our center several years back, who was a human turnstile on that OL. I really hope no one on our offensive line gets hurt this year.

If we lose Boling it would be interesting to see Tits move inside and Winston move to tackle..... Not sure if Tits can still do it, but that might work. If we lose Zeitler, you could move Whit inside where we know he excels..... But I don't think we have anyone that could play LT..... Maybe Fisher would be ready, but that's a big if.

How did AJ do? I haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

I'm guessing based on the score, not very well. Bummer.

He did McCarron like things. Good poise, meh arm, reasonable short accuracy, meh deep accuracy. Poor mans Andy Dalton essentially.

I disagree with that. I actually think it is insulting to McCarron to be labeled a poor man Andy Dalton when Dalton is 0-4 in the playoffs and 1 to 6 TD to INT ratio.

Dalton gets to play with starting quality players, when McCarron got that chance last week, he excelled. This week he had to play behind backups and struggled a little bit due to the fact he couldn't even drop back 3 steps before having to avoid the rush. Our backup offensive line is atrocious.

several throws seemed to be designed to test the receivers in pre-g4. It seemed the bengals could have converted on many first downs when they decided to throw over the defense or make receivers fight for balls instead.

I guess it all has to do with figuring out who makes the team and such. He did overthrow a few receivers, but on the other hand, why couldn't the receivers get the lead out when their jobs were on the line?

LOL. WHAT HAS AN MCCARRON EVER DONE? He was a 5th round pick who was injured his entire rookie season. He has 1 pretty good preseason game. I actually think it might be an insult to Dalton to even put McCarron in the same league as him. AJ McCarron has done absolutely nothing to prove he can play in the NFL on sundays.
