Has anyone noticed that Nick Williams has been improving? Regular playing time is working for him.
The most pleasant surprise has been Franco. He now has legit stats and shows no sign of letting up.
Hoping that Kingery gets his bat going soon. We are weak at shortstop for now.

Franco and Williams are doing great. Hope it continues.

Yea, I think Franco has turned a permanent corner and he has really developed into a pretty good and consistent player when he is there.

Then, there's all this talk from "experts" Ricky Bottalico and Jim Salisbury in the last few days stating that Franco may not fit into the Phillies organization long term, with his ups and downs, and that a trade is likely, with the right deal. I'm not in favor of that right now. I still believe Franco will get more consisent and it's too early to move him. Then, there's the ole "sell high" idea. He'll only be 26 in August.

I agree jvett. I am pretty tired of this organization trading players away just when they start to get pretty consistent for some stiff that needs seasoning and they replicate this self-destroying cycle for what exactly. Just keep this guy. He is going to continue to get better I believe.

Franco is producing from the 8th spot in the lineup. That makes him even more valuable! He has earned his spot.
To trade for a 3rd baseman now would be stupid!

I totally agree Northwest and somehow the FO doesn't seem to cease on leaking his name as potential trade bait.

100 mph Giles demoted. The Houston Astros have optioned reliever Ken Giles to Triple-A Fresno, a night after he appeared to curse at manager A.J. Hinch when he lifted him from the game.

27-year-old Giles, in his third season in Houston, is 0-2 with a career-high 4.99 ERA in 34 appearances this season.

I missed it. It seems like this was home run derby lite with guys like Stanton and Judge not participating. Some players feel that the derby has a negative effect on their swing or timing.
