Phillies get a catcher who can hit for average and defend as well. probably replaces Knapp.
The Phillies did well in this deal.and they seemingly aren't giving up much, if anything really. guess he hit the d/l at the wrong time for the rays, but the right time for the phillies.
So true retro. When the ball is in play it can become a hit, or move a runner over. Could also create a sac fly or even an error. Striking out with runners in scoring position drives me nuts! Also when a shift Is used on certain players they could shorten their swing and hit it the opposite way. This approach would lessen scoring draughts. IMO.Yea, jvett, we may have added the right hitting pieces at the right time. Both just meet the ball with the bat and get hits. If it is the deep ball so be it, if not so be it. It does not appear they are over-doing anything. Just a simple putting the bat on the ball and getting a hit as Northeast has often explained!!
