Dominguez should be the new closer! He has great control. Throws strikes, challenges every hitter!

It seems like barely a year ago I was traveling to Allentown and Reading to watch these guys play. Now they’re all here! Hoskins, Kingery, Alfaro, Cozens, Franco, Knapp, Florimon, Walding, Crawford, Williams, and Valentin. All they gotta do is continue growing.

Whoops, forgot about Dusty Wathan.

2 of 4 is not bad but Northeast's post a few back was spot on. We simply lack the character to put the major effort out there to win the big series. I suppose third place is satisfying to this team.

I feel that way because of the facts Retro. The only decent hitter we have is now in a major slump. (Odubel). Some guys are slowly emerging as we speak. Whatever happened to just put the ball in play theory? Too many strikeouts with men in scoring position doesn't work.

IMO, “Put the ball in play” can be an oversimplification of the game. It’s true though but not useful in certain situations. Power guys need to swing for the fences.

What I can”t figure out is why more emphasis isn’t’ put on trying to beat the shift and why these millionaires can’t pay more attention to it by practicing hitting the other way and/or laying down surprise bunts to reach base. That one reason the Phillies leave so many guys on base. Actually, yes, put the ball in play, intelligently.

It still baffles me that this Phillies club still doesn't understand this primary reason behind any offense. It was the emphasis for Money Ball. Getting on base and then hitting to get people home is the bedrock of any good offense and this team has not gotten that basic concept through their collective knaggens even with Flex at the helm!!
