Defense was beyond pathetic, played soft all night.

They should've had that game last night. Sid's goal at the very end of the 2nd period should have been the dagger. But, much like we've seen of this team in previous seasons, they have a very hard time maintaining a lead late in games. This felt like a Dan Bylsma type loss, where just getting to your game will be enough to gut out the win.

You can't play fire wagon hockey when you're protecting a lead. There shouldn't have been any pinching d-men in the third period, and there definitely was. I will say that the refs effed up on the goal that made it 3-3. The puck should've been iced, and the Pens skaters assumed it was, only to find out the refs didn't agree, and bang, all tied up. It was the turning point.

Steve Downie cannot take that penalty, either. What a dumb shit move that was. Why do I have this feeling that he's going to do that again, only with larger implications on the line...

I see another 1st round exist this year. Just don't see this team doing well in a playoff series unless we get matched up with the weakest possible opponent (and even then they'll probably take us to the limit).

I think the Pens will be the weakest possible opponent. This is pathetic.

Was watching my Alma mater, Penn State, play Michigan State on Saturday. Do you know how much fun it is to be rooting for a team that can actually break the puck out of its own zone? The kids were hustling, generating chances and scoring goals. I miss that with the Pens.

You're right, that's messed up that we're now getting blown out when Sid scores, but at least it gives us something. Imagine if Sid wasn't scoring

Sad to say but I actually enjoy watching hockey more when the Penguins are not playing these days.
