If the Bills want to keep Mike Gillislee it will cost them $6.4M over the next two years and it will cost them $4M in 2017. The Patriots made him the two year offer this afternoon and now it's up to the Bills to keep him or take the late 5th Round pick from the Patriots.

One wonders if Bills OL make the RB or vs versus. Think they can find Gillislee replacement on the cheap in the draft.

add backup RB to the list of needs

Well cap space being a issue, yeah. Remains to be seen how Gillislee does playing for the Pats.

We need to start giving our RFA higher tenders I mean how much more could a second round tender really be. I would have to imagine its less then 4 million.

True, but what they need to do first and foremost is get their cap in shape, so they can keep their own. Might need a new GM who has a better handle on the cap.

A 2nd Round Tender would have been a salary of $2.7M or $500,000 more than the 5th. Bills tried to cheap out and keep him for mooch money and now if they keep him it will cost them 4X what they tendered him. Buffalo and national media were shocked when the Patriots gave him the $4M up front but everyone saw exactly why they did it. Buffalo has $10M left under the cap. If they keep MG it clip their cap space to under $6M.

See what paying one player $25M a year does to the team. Hello, Mr. McCoy, would you be willing to take a pay reduction???

It actually clips their cap space by $2.2M, not $4M as the $1.8M offer was already included in that cap space.

McCoy's cap hit in 2017 is $8.875M. $25M is his total for the next 3 years, not this year. Nice try, though.

exactly and no one would give up a second round pick for Gillislee but a 5th no big deal.

There has been a few questionable signings like Clay. Also in hindsight the Darius extension is money not well spent.

Seattle has one of the better GM's in John Schneider who learned his craft in the Packers scouting dept.

The Clay contract was just a higher salary version of the Bills trying to be the thief in a RFA signing. I think it would look better if the Bills offense would've accentuated Clay's role as it seemed they would have.

The Dareus extension is a tough situation, and I think it could still turn out well. The Bills' continuous flip-flops of defensive schemes is not helping whatsoever. They need to settle down with a coaching staff and let these guys play.

Not a big deal. Gilly is a good player. Not worth it for us, imo. No need for the Bills to panic.

A perfect example being Gilly himself.... when so many were worried about Karlos Williams' down fall.

Jonathan Williams will be more than fine as a two.
