Watching this on the DVR now.

Simmons hated them because they went against his Celtics.

Rose liked them since he's from Detroit, and he said they helped shape the Fab 5.

Both want to give them their due.

Simmons said they were arguably the best team from 1987 - 1990.

Thomas didn't want to be drafted by Detroit.

On national TV, he said it didn't matter.

But behind the scenes, he tried to get himself lowered so that Chicago could pick him.

During the interview with Detroit GM Jack McCloskey, he intentionally answered every question wrong.

Finally, McCloskey said "I don't care what you do in this interview. If you're there at # 2, we're taking you".

Thomas scored 16 points in the last 94 seconds of regulation of game 5 against NY in the 1984 playoffs.

That's about as good as Reggie Miller's 8 points in 8.9 seconds, in terms of a lot of points in a short span of time, near the end of a playoffs game.

Detroit lost in OT.
