Oklahoma OT Orlando Brown Jr. had a pre-draft visit with the Detroit Lions Friday, April 13.

Wed, 11 Apr 2018 11:02:20 -0700

Auburn RB Kerryon Johnson visited the Detroit Lions Tuesday, April 10.

Tue, 10 Apr 2018 15:13:52 -0700

Boise State LB Leighton Vander Esch visited the Detroit Lions Tuesday, April 10.

No on Brown. Yes on the last 2. Not sure LVE will be around for us in the second and I dont think we can afford to reach for him in the first. I do think he would pair very well with Jarrad Davis though so maybe if some of our other targets are gone early then we could.

Johnson is more of a round 3 or 4. Nice pickup he would be.

I don't follow this as closely as I used to, or even as much as I'd like to, but isn't Orlando Brown the son of Zues the OT who had his career ended by a penalty flag to the eye? Isn't he also the guy who had one of the absolute worst combines in history?

If yes I'd hard pass on that guy. All the way off the draft board.

Yeah, he's Orlandos son.

Zeus career was derailed for a few years because of that flag. But he played again after the NFL gave him about 20Mil for taking his eye.

OB Jr grew up a big, fat, lazy rich kid. But he was a helluva player at OK.

So far the only teams that have hosted him are us and the Cowboys ,

The 49ers have been linked to him a lot too, so i'm not getting my hopes up(rather have Payne or Hurst anyways)

Top choice for 1st round (actually plausible)

Harold Landry OLB/DL from Boston College.
Daron Payne DT/DE (3-4) from ALA
Would be sweet as hell if Derwin James fell to us somehow.

One player I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole in the first round is Derrius Guice. Dude reminds me of the former Lions bust, Kevin Smith that we picked late in the first round.

Also wouldn't touch Arden Key. Guy reminds me a lot of Barkevious Mingo. Too scrawny for legit NFL tackles.

I don't even care who the players are.

But if we draft offensive guys in the first three rounds I'll give you a list of GMs I'd like to replace Quin with.

Least favorite offseason since Suh left.

Yeah but who we gonna replace Ebron with? MUST go TE in the first.

I thought Smith was a 3rd. Either he was decent, just not a massive game threat and had half his carries used up in college. They ran him into the ground

I think Hurst is too big a risk for a first round pick. he has the talent no doubt but I would not chance it. IF somehow he dropped to the 2nd round then certainly. To me first round picks need to be guaranteed keepers with no issues.

Quinn asked him if he liked clam chowda.
Ebron didn't know what clam chowda was.

He had to go...

Plus, he's never even BEEN to Syracuse.

Whats with all the Ebron love all of a sudden? Lions tried to trade him but noone wanted to give anything up for him. Did any team other than the Colts (and maybe the Browns) even talk to him?

I don't think it is Ebron Love, it was more cutting him when they have no other options. They hurt the team to save money, but then did not use that new available money to improve one thing. Ebron is not good enough, but he is still significantly better then anything else the Lions have. It was a bad cut.

It's just he has more upside then anyone behind him is all and not like the Lions were strapped against the cap and need the space.

Makes sense if it was one of those two options.

Only other legitimate reason is that Quinn didn't like his hair.

I remember when we drafted him he said he was like Barry Sanders only stronger and faster.

Dude was solid for 4 or 5 games though.

This Guice guy reminds me of him.
Above average in everything but not elite in any area.
Also, not sure how good this guy will be in pass pro or catching passes.

Much better players like Chubb or Penny could be had in rounds 2-3.
