Appears he's going to try Tanaka's therapy (which I didn't believe would work, but did)

Better than TJ I guess. Good luck, exciting player to watch.

I just don't see him being both a pitcher and a hitter long term.

As a baseball fan this sucks and I hope he has a speedy and full recovery.
As a Mariners fan with the Angels coming to town I dont share the same sentiments.

Reasonable.

When deGrom hyperextended his elbow against the Braves, my thoughts were I hope he's ok, but I'm glad he's out of this game in the 4th.

He should either be strictly a pitcher or hitter imo... Too much strain on a guy. Speedy recovery but TJ would not be a surprising outcome

Completely disagree with he should do one or the other. If he can do both at a high level then he should be able to. Injuries are going to happen. No team should ever make a decision based on fear of an injury, pitchers and hitters get hurt all the time and no amount of bubble wrap is going to prevent it.

Agreed, he could have gotten this injury if he was just a pitcher or another injury if he was just a hitter.

Oh i know injuries are going to happen no matter what, I just think he should focus more on one or the other and perfect that... Well. When you are paying players like they are paying him they certainly should consider making "moves" in fear of injuries... but yes as you mentioned they happen all the time no matter what

Totally agree about the they are paying players so should "protect them". But loser organizations do that, hence the Nationals with Strasburg when they had a shot at the WS. Fear almost always backfires. Take your Pat's for an example. When have they ever pulled Brady in week 13 because they have the division wrapped up?
