Cespedes with Sox: .230/.237/.446

Because if there's anything the A's offense needs, it's a corner OF with an OBP like 80 points below the league average.

I feel ya there HammerDown. Starting a 4 game set against the ChiSox today, so maybe that can kick-start our season again.

A's drop another tough one..(5-4 in 12 innings)......and lose more ground to the Halos.
8 GB with 19 to go....( Inc. 3 @ the Mariners & 3 @ home vs. The Angels)
Currently tied for the 2 WC spots with Seattle & Detroit...(3 other teams are lurking 4 GB)
It's desperation time in the east bay and approaching death spiral levels.

Damn!!!

Amazing - Losing 12 games in the division and 9 in the Wild Card race in just 27 games is hard to do. Somehow, some way, the A's have done just that.

They're now 20-23 in one-run games. Five losses in a row were decided by one run. un-fucking-real.

It's like the '02 Red Sox (+194 run differential, but 13-23 in one run games) and '05 Indians (+148 runs, but 22-36 in one run games (!)) all over again.

Nava, it's really looking like a WC of SEA & either DET or KC. As monumental as the A's catching & passing TEX 2 years ago, this is even more epic (as failure). :gaah:

Just sayin'....

If this trend continues...someone, either Billy Beane or Bob Melvin is gonna be the fall guy....and if it turns out to being the latter, then I hope Sandy Alderson dumps Terry Collins and signs Bob Melvin to manage the Mets (like he should have done originally over 3 yrs. ago )

heartburn and depression are settling in right next to desperation and anger. I can't stand this. watching the game last night, I just fucking knew they would lose by one run. it was like having a tooth pulled slowly with no drugs

maybe, just maybe they find a way. but what would you rather see, a one game playoff versus Felix and the mariners or sherzer and the tigers?

You're basically picking your poison there...that being said, I like the fact there are 2 WC teams, but MLB really needs to do the right thing and switch to a best of 3 series to determine the WC winner, and hopefully they will in the next yr or 2.
The 1 game playoff is for football and soccer...this is baseball dammit..
....and btw: Good Riddance, Bud Selig. Sheeeesh.

I'm still rooting for the A's to step up and play like they are capable of playing, and I think they will....they are after all my 2nd fave team and have been for decades....after my Mets of course.

Good Luck the rest of the way.

Eh, as long as it's at The Mausoleum, I don't care. I just don't want it to be Felix the Cat with the Crooked Hat.

Great win last night! Certainly starting to look like we may finally be turning things around. We still have all the pitching necessary to make a deep postseason push, and Lester gives us a great shot in the 1-game Wild Card playoff. Don't give up hope yet!

Losing to the Reds & LA in the WS, losing in the ALDS, some of those hurt... this dog-terd team though, nah... these guys needed to lose and hopefully they'll blow up this POS and start over before the corpse is cold.
