That actually makes sense. Conforto isn't a great outfielder anyway and Citifield has a lot of ground to cover. Conforto looks like he'll hit enough to justify first base and it gets Lagares's glove back in the game which is a plus. Never a big Duda guy anyway, way too streaky.

I agree..could be a blessing in disguise...but from the sounds of it, I don't think Duda will be back before Aug 1st.
That's a 25-30 HR & 90-100 RBI guy out of the lineup...not to mention missing d'Arnaud's bat too...and we never know how long Wright is gonna hold up....plus some issues w/ the SP of late....

This is becoming the NY M*A*S*H unit.

The front office should consider calling up Roger Bernadina ( who was signed in ST) from AAA Vegas. He's a good utility guy to have who can play all 4 INF positions, and the 2 corner OF spots...which allows for more flexibility.....and we can't keep running Eric campbell out there on a daily basis.
I love "Soup", but he isn't an everyday starter...and he K's way too much.

Surprised at last night's outcome. Colon did great and the offense woke up.

I'm guessing letting Harvey pitch tonight is the right call. If he blows up again, then there won't be any more excuses. Sit his ass down and say "time to take one for the good of the team, kid."

Not expecting a win tonight, but hopefully Matz does well tomorrow and we can take the series. Or, maybe there's another home run barrage and we somehow win this one...but I don't see them hitting Strasburg too hard.

Who starts at first tonight? Will we see Ty Kelly?

Mets third baseman David Wright will sit the night game ahead of Wednesday's matinee. Ty Kelly will make his major league debut at third base for the Mets.

I just don't have any words.....other than, ugghhh. :L

Matt Harvey stumbles again as Nationals top Mets

Mets mull options as Harvey's struggles continue

Strasburg stays perfect as Nats beat Harvey and Mets 7-4

on the bright side...

Wilmer Flores went 2-for-3 and played seven innings at first base as his rehab assignment began Tuesday with Double-A Binghamton. Flores is eligible to return from the disabled list on Friday, when the Mets open a series at Citi Field against the Dodgers. He should supplant Eric Campbell at first base at that point. Flores had landed on the DL with a mild left hamstring strain.
