The Mets ended 2017 at 70-92...in 4th place, 27 games out of 1st in the NL east.
They went 37-44 at home, & 33-48 on the road.
Their run differential was the NL's 3rd worst at -128...(735 runs scored to 863 runs allowed)

Injuries and eventual trades notwithstanding....this was one of the most dreadful and forgetful seasons they've had....and they've had their share over the years.

Man, Howie and Wayne on Sunday's game were talking about how the team ERA for the season was hovering just under 5.00 in the eighth inning. Wayne said that only one other time in the teams history was the season team ERA over 5.00 - 1962.

Then Montero gives up some more runs, and it's official: this was the second-worst season for Mets pitching in team history.

Time for a clean sweep of the clubhouse, managerial staff, training staff, hell fire the groundskeepers.
