*The Braves & Phils both lost...but the Nats won.

TRAINER'S ROOM:

Plawecki has been on the DL since April 12 with a broken left hand. ... OF Yoenis Cespedes (right hip) took batting practice on the field Thursday and was running lightly Friday.

UP NEXT:

Mets: LHP Jason Vargas (1-3) is 21-11 in 50 career starts in May for a .656 win percentage, the highest of any month for his career.

Fuck this Vargas guy...he's pathetic.

Dude can't even get lefties out when it matters.

Lugo should be in the starting rotation.

Mets score 3 in the top of the 1st...and vargASS gives them right back.

3-3 game after 1.

Lulzzzz.

Breaking News.
Vargas somehow managed to throw a shut down inning.

4-3 Mets after 2.

Edit:

Conforto's solo blast leading off in the top of the 3rd makes it 5-3.

:suds:

Hopefully Vargas can toss another shutdown frame in the bottom half.

Both starters have been pulled.
It's already down to the bullpens...and we're only in the 4th.

Anderson only went 3.2 for the crew...Vargas lasted just 3.

:dhd:

Rhame pitching for the Mets in the bottom 4th.

....and he gives up a 1 out walk...and a triple...to give milwaukee a 6-5 lead...and then a single to make it 7-5.

Finally end of 4.

Our new manager was the pitching coach for the Indians..and apparently he was a damn good one while there....but there seems to be a disconnect with some of the Mets pitchers for whatever reason...and I can't quite put my finger on it.

Good God.....it's like a Packers - Jets game.

17-6, and it's just the 7th inning.

:tsk:

Some of these fools need to be shipped back down to the farm.
Mets BP (3 of the 4 relievers) has given up 12 runs in this one.

Ugghhhh.

FFS...get on the horn, Sandy.

The only solace about this is that the Braves lost earlier.
Unfortunately the Phils & Nats have won...

There's some leapfrogging goin' on in the NL east...but the Mets aren't the ones doin' any leaping to this point as of yet.

Mets vs. Brewers - Game Recap - May 26, 2018 - ESPN

New York's first three batters of the game reached base and scored, but that was as good as it got for the Mets.

New York starter Jason Vargas, now sporting an ERA of 10.62, allowed five runs off six hits and two walks in three innings. He finished with five strikeouts.

"Everybody has bad games," Mets manager Mickey Callaway said. "We had several that had bad games on the same time tonight, so it kind of skewed the score big-time and you have to chalk it up to that."

UP NEXT:

Mets: RHP Zack Wheeler (2-4, 5.93 ERA) gave up one earned run and struck out nine his last time out on Tuesday will start for NY in the series finale.

Brewers: RHP Jhoulys Chacin (3-1, 3.32) allowed one run in four innings against the Mets on April 15. He did not factor in the decision in New York's 3-2 win that day.

Must be a day ending in Y.
Once again another late inning BP clusterfuck.

Could it be the Mets catchers are tipping signs?
Is Callaway just picking names out of a hat at this point??
Dude isn't pushing the right buttons or pulling the right strings of late.

And predictably after deGrom had to run the bases in the top half, as is almost invariably the case with most pitchers, the struggles begin when he's back on the mound...
He gives up a leadoff HR, a walk, and a single in the bottom 7th.
1st & 3rd..no outs.

Yep...I'm sure this will end well..and he's already over 100 pitches...

Any more rain on the way????
