From ESPN: Wednesday's Mets-Giants game was the highest-rated MLB wild-card game ever and ESPN's most-streamed MLB event ever. The telecast generated a record 5.8 overnight rating, which surpasses the previous high (5.7) set by both the AL and NL wild-card games in 2015, according to Nielsen.

The 5.8 overnight rating is the best for an MLB game on ESPN in 13 years. It peaked with a 7.1 overnight rating from 11-11:15 p.m. ET.

The game delivered ESPN its largest streaming audience ever for an MLB event. It set several records, including 35,977,000 total minutes streamed, 634,400 unique viewers and an average minute audience of 173,800 viewers. This is up 40 percent, 42 percent and 37 percent, respectively, from the 2015 MLB AL wild-card game on ESPN that pitted the Yankees and Astros. Based on the overnights from Nielsen, ESPN is expected to win the night across all of television for Oct. 5.

The fact we were held together by a thread and made the wildcard game means TC will be back.

I wouldn't bet on it.....but we'll see.
I think it's time to go in a different direction managerial wise.

Hope you're right.

Insofar as the injuries excuse goes...they played that hand numerous times in the last few yrs.

It's really getting old. He's just not a very good manager.

Did you read the story about how close Sandy was to firing him a few months ago?

Mets nearly fired Terry Collins in August, report says

Report: Mets would have fired Collins in August after 4-12 run

And so it begins.....or not.

From Adam Rubin....
Terry Collins met with Sandy Alderson on Thursday at Citi Field. The manager then indicated that he expects the coaching staff will remain the same in 2017, according to the Post.

:L

I'm still holding out hope that TC will be gone...
