@Bolts Going to need a compilation of the Padre's defense tonight. It hasn't been pretty.

Being a Padres fan sucks enough already, you want me to have to find clips of the sad plays they "made" in a blowout loss? That's cruel and I refuse. It was nice seeing the Dodgers in last for a few days, but that wasn't gonna last.

Yep, that is dumb as shit. That was on Avila. Good thing that happened with less than two outs or none of the runs would have counted. And of course Avila made up for it with a solo jack later in the game.

Yeah they would have. He made it on base so the runs counted regardless.

Cueto is pitching well. Too bad the Giants can't hit even the most mediocre of pitching.

Corbin has been nothing short of amazing this season.
But he is a mediocre pitcher. His stats are way skewed by the fact that he's faced the flaccid Giants offense twice already this year.

Yet arguably his most dominant start came against the Dodgers. I actually think he’s benefiting from the humidor balls that Arizona now uses.

Corbin will always be an up and down starter. If he can get his slider and sinker over (and/or has a helpful ump) he will do well against any team. If he has to throw more than 33% fastballs - he'll struggle.
But you might be right about that humidor....it will be interesting to see how it effects HR numbers.

Reading the "tea leaves" coming from Lovullo & company, the damage could be minor enough that is considered a strain that doesn't require surgery. And the team is being cautious by getting a second opinion. Either way, we can conclude that there is some tearing of the UCL. Whether or not if it is minor, has yet to be determined.

Tommy John. RIP.

Corbin's FIP and xFIP are under 2.00 right now. Can't put too much stock into 4 starts, but it is interesting to see him striking so many guys out so far.

Giants hitting .151 with runners in scoring position. Worst in the Majors.

Hill going on the DL. It's the blister again. I'm sure Stripling is happy to get a few starts.

Hoping Yimi Garcia is able to make a comeback this season as well, I really don't like the idea of Pedro Baez pitching in high-leverage situations. Going to need a stopper other than Jansen.

Who have also been struggling mightily on offense.

Dodgers are the only NL West team that has a team BA reaching .250. Rockies at .214....the rest are in between.
SD, SF, and Col are the worst 3 teams in OBP in the NL

Chris Stratton looks pretty good but Tyler Beede clearly is not the answer.
