Couple of really interesting top performers.

Both Goalies have ridiculous stats ATM. Blackwood is leading his league by a substantial margin. Appleby has been ridiculous for the Thunder in the ECHL a league normally known for not playing a lot of defense.

Zacha is lighting it up since going back down, and Blake Speers also has a ton of points leading his team. Quenneville also over a P/G

good stuff here.

Weird to me to keep seeing Boucher still not a mainstay here with NJ. I really have high hopes for him.

Pavel is impressive as is our young goalie Blackwood whom still is a what da hell type pick for me...

but quality nonetheless.

On Blackwood, these days Goalies are given years to develop, so you need to draft them 4-5 years before you need them I guess.

Also, Boucher has scored a ton of goals down in Albany, no doubt he's hungry to get back up here.

I think blackwood is going to be a massive steal for us. He's a top-tier goalie prospect in a time where slightly above average backups are bringing in first round picks (Martin Jones, Cam Talbot, Lehner). 5-10 teams right now are using starters that have no business playing regularly in the NHL and there is a HUGE push to increase scoring via pad changes or net increases. Top quality goalies may become a premium asset right when Blackwood is ready to break into the NHL.

Zacha was just named player of the week in the OHL after he scored 6G, 9PTS in his last four games.

And Blackwood, is the best goalie in the OHL. Not even close really.

Zacha has 8 points in the last 24 hours. 4G, 5A in three DEC games.

He's now up to 17G, 30 PTS in 23GP this season. All this with no training camp down in JRs because he was up here.

Out of curiosity I looked up the Czech defenseman we signed last summer, Vojtech Mozik. The guy is a +22. I know +/- is a flimsy stat but +22 is pretty legit.

Despite having a ridiculous first round of 6G, 7A in 7GP, Zacha's Sting lost the series. He's heading to Albany.

Got to see Zacha, santini & Wood in the last game they all looked real good.

Between them and the guys we sent down (Boucher, Blandisi, Severson, Mocjik, Wedgewood; Albany should be stacked for a good run

Quenneville is absolutely ripping it up in the playoffs. Leading in Goals and Points. Very similar to how Henrique opened eyes where he scored nearly a goal per game in his playoffs final JR season.

Game 5 for the Albany Devils tonight. Nick Lappin looks to be a nice pickup. UDFA from Brown, 3 goals so far in the playoffs and has looked solid.

With the finals underway and the draft around the corner I figured I'd start dropping some potential picks in here:

Mock draft: Laine goes to Jets at No. 2

11. New Jersey Devils - Logan Brown, C, Windsor (OHL)
Brown (6-6, 220) is the big center the Devils desperately crave for their prospect pool. He has good hands and is difficult to contain when driving to the net. He had 21 goals, 74 points, and 29 power-play points in 59 games. He also won 53.0 percent of his faceoffs (609 of 1,148).

Tyson Jost | Tyson Jost Profile | Tyson Jost Scouting Report 2016

The Draft Analyst - March 10, 2016 - "Jost has an excellent shot to compliment his extraordinary passing acumen, using soft hands and a quick release to turn a bad pass in his skates into a well-placed attempt at the net. Jost’s shot accuracy is top notch, and he will beat you from the inside of the ice or outside from his arsenal of moves. He is a three-zone center with decent size who will not necessarily avoid physical play, and he’s shown to control the puck while taking a beating."
