Wow! I certainly didn't expect this to happen. Figured this would work through the courts for a few years:

$765 MM the NFL pays to fund research, testing and treatment (minus litigation expenses of course).

Great news. I still think it's a tenuous claim at best (you really didn't know using your head as a battering ram might have adverse affects?), however I'm glad the NFL agreed to pony up (they can certainly afford it) and they can now move forward.
