The Mets approach to playing the Nats is disgusting. It's like they're afraid of them.
Already behind the 8 ball 2- zip in the 5th. Matz probably won't get any run support whatsoever.
I'd be shocked if the Nats lost tonight.
Mets will need to win 1 of the last 2 games this weekend just to stay afloat before they leave for LA & SF. Good luck with all that.

I'm still debating whether or not to go see 1 game here in SF next weekend.
But if I do it'll be the Friday night game.

Have a good evening, y'all.

Scherzer strikes out 10, leads Nationals over Mets 7-2

The Nationals and Mets is a noncompetitive fight right now. The Nationals won Friday's round easily, on the strength of 10 strikeouts (for the 5th straight start) from Max Scherzer and home runs from Anthony Rendon, Matt Wieters and Michael Taylor. Scherzer was without his best slider, but still made the Mets look meek with a dominant fastball.

Yikes.
If you thought Wheeler's last outing was bad....you're correct
...but tonight's was almost just as putrid.
He lasted just 1.2 innings vs. the Cubs last week giving up 8 runs on 62 pitches....tonight he went a full 2 innings giving up 7 runs on 53 pitches before being pulled.

Right now the Dodgers lead it 8-4 in the 6th.
Ex met Justin Turner (big surprise) has hurt the Mets....& Cody Bellinger homered twice.
Bruce, Reyes & Cecchini (his 1st) all went deep for NY.
Kershaw already has 10 K's.

WOW!!
Are you kidding me?

Jose Reyes just hit his second homer of the game.

Career high 4 homers given up by Kershaw in a game.
The Mets trail 8-6 in the 7th..they were trailing 7-0, but are now back in this game, amazingly.

LGM!!!

Fernando Salas comes in to begin the 7th and gives 1 back on his 3rd pitch.
Taylor solo shot...9-6 LA.
8 HR have been hit in this one so far....4 per team...and both teams have a player with 2.

The Mets have somehow sent the tying run to the plate.
The bases are loaded w/ 2 outs for Jose Reyes in the 8th.

Edit:
nuthin' doin'

Swung on and missed.

Meh.....At least they kept it interesting.

• Corey Seager is the first Dodgers shortstop with 6 RBI in a game since the team moved from Brooklyn to LA in 1958.

• According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Cody Bellinger of the Dodgers is the first player with 10 HR in a 10-game span since Troy Tulowitzki in 2010.....and he's also the first rookie in MLB history to ever do it.

Mets are just getting punk'd & embarrassed almost on a daily basis now.

It appears to me anyway, the front office, the team manager, the coaches..and even some of the players don't even care anymore at this point. Just going thru the motions, status quo, business as usual, same old same old.

The injury excuse only goes so far. The complacency and lack of focus is beyond disgusting & unacceptable.

Where's the heart?....the pride?....the spirit?....the desire?...the accountability?....the leadership?

Where in the hell is my fucking team???

:gaah:
