What an incredible game pitched by, Leake today? 8 innings that was desperately needed after our pen had been spent the first two games for the most part... 0 runs allowed... Leake was amazing today...

Great win... One we desperately needed...

And please, for the sake of God, bring Gamel back up and send Heredia down...

Good outcome, but still some odd play and managing of this game.

Haven't read the thread, but did anyone else find it odd to pull robbie off 3rd for romine? It was one out with runners at the corners and Segura at first. You had a fast guy already on first to try to avoid a DP. Did Romine's extra speed really offset the potential for the game to still continue on and remove that bat?

Was robbie looking tired or something?

Just was curious so here it is:

Dustin Ackley is now 30 and playing for Angel's AAA. He is hitting .285 with 4 HR's, 35 RBI's in 221 AB's.

I think pinch running was more of a managerial mistake by Servais much like putting in Pazo's to switch Lowrie around. Stuff makes sense in theory but common sense has to come in somewhere. Switch hitters are always more powerful right handed and IMO take out on of your best hitters for your worst hitter and have Romine play first after already pinch hitting for Healy when the chance of Cruz hitting a shallow fly ball that Cano couldn't score on is minimal.

dont think that depoto is afraid to trade........the reason has to be that he is not getting offers that he comfortable with
for the price/or the players he wants/or he feels will help the club

i have been looking around the league for possible candidates...and i just dont find that many as well

but they have a lot more resources than i do...but still it is like they are in a tunnel where only a handfull of players would do that other teams are not willing to trade as well

for exampe
robert stephenson......who cinnci prob wants for ...there ..rotation later might do..but they wont trade him

It would be interesting if they gave him a shot in September

This is simply incorrect.

2018 HRs hit LH vs RH
Lowrie: 16 vs 3
Smoak: 25 vs 7
Jose Ramirez: 31 vs 5
Lindor: 24 vs 5
Carlos Santana: 12 vs 5
Asdrubal Cabrera: 16 vs 4

Hmm, maybe stats don't back it up it is absolutely true 99% of switch hitters have more power on the right. Weirdos left handed switch hitters I'm not sure.

Haven’t gotten a chance to watch a game since the All-Star... follows final scores though.

Was Cano booed upon his return? I suspect there would be

He was by most of the 10,000 A's fans. Tomorrow should be interesting.

To be fair, those 10,000 A's fans are better fans than nearly every Safeco Field game until except Opening day and in the few playoff chases they have had in September. One thing I do fault the Mariners is they are more concentrated on PR than winning. You can go to Safeco and not see one pitch and have a blast. If you go to an A's game you are into the game or catch a disease.

Mantle hit 372/536 HRs left handed
Pete Rose - 119/160 LH
Chipper Jones - 361/468 LH
Tim Raines - 119/170 LH
Lance Berkman - 316/366 LH
Eddie Murray - 362/504 LH

The stats don't back it up because it's just not true. Switch hitters hit for far more power from the left side. These are the best of all time and the numbers aren't remotely close.

I'm a switch hitter and throw right handed... More of my doubles and HR's came from the left side of the plate... I've always believed SH's had more power from the Left Side...
