That draft actually sounds like fun with a few adjustments.


NFL draft idea everyone needs to pick a backup QB in the first rd. Then trade a pick every other round. We can call it the Cleveland Browns draft

I actually like this idea except we make it a salary cap draft...before the draft you bid on QB’s (we can make it all QB’s or just non-HOF)...then whatever you have left you start with that cap and build the rest of your team

I have talked about using an auction before but seriously how do we do it, everyone will need to be involved and the draft will take months.

No this is just for your QB. We bid on QB’s before the draft with our set cap. Of course we set a minimum price for the last couple that need qb’s. Then we start our draft like a cap draft...idk just a little wrinkle.

So to be clear it isnt an auction just an auction on qb’s or we could do another position but qb makes the most sense

Idea for the next draft, which I think is NBA...

Everybody picks 2 players before the draft even starts. Could be anybody. You start with those 2 players, then build the rest of your team around them. Draft a 12 man roster and play a best of 7 series. There will be players who are duplicated, yes, but the meat of your teams will be the guys we draft. Anyone who is chosen to start a team is ineligible to be drafted.

So, it is possible for MJ to be playing against himself. It is possible for MJ and Magic to be playing MJ and Magic, but with different front courts and bench.

I brought this up for the last NBA draft and a lot of people said it sounded fun, but needed a few tweaks. So, do we want to tweak this or do we want to do something like this for the NFL draft, where 2 guys wouldn't matter near as much. Or the next MLB draft?

I think we could try it on NBA and if it works, did it for NFL sometime too. I think it does need tweaks. Setting a restriction is pointless too....

Players drafted must have played with the team for 4 years to be eligible...

Each bucket has a cap.

Shouldn't all the buckets have the same cap? And you should probably split up the Panthers, Jags, and Texans since they are the newest franchise and it will be very hard to find people that played there for 4 years.
