Edge him out for what exactly? A race in the 40? He's certainly not taking his slot job.

we were just talking about which one was faster.

Smith was suppose to be our speedster last season when he was brought in - but it was said multiple times that agholor was actually faster than smith.

Now Wallace is our burner. I want to know if he can beat agholor in the 40. :D

Going off of combine results, Agholor and Torrey are about the same and Wallace was about a tenth of a second faster.

Love this signing. Wallace will be 32 this year, but for $2.5 million, this is a fucking steal. He's actually been quietly one of the top receivers since coming into the league.

Among wide receivers since 2010 (he only started 4 games in his rookie season in '09, so I didn't include that): 20th in receptions, 18th in receiving yards, 17th in TD's.

For comparison, Alshon, since his rookie year in 2012; is 21st in receptions, 13th in receiving yards, 15th in TD's.

Pretty comparable production, yet we are paying Alshon ~$14 million to play for us in 2018. (Obviously, Alshon is younger and a better player at this point in his career, and that's the market value for a receiver like him. I'm just pointing out how cheap we got Wallace.)

I'm great with the signing as well. But after a rookie contract... 4 teams in the last 5 years now (including phi)... and on a 1 year deal.... why do you think that is the case???

He's pretty much our Ted Ginn Jr ... a hired deep ball specialist. Ginn has also been bounced around the league, but played an important role for the Saints this past season (as I hope Wallace does for us).

Plus, isn't Torrey Smith on the pretty much same path as Wallace? I wasn't thrilled with the Torrey Smith signing, but he worked out just fine and Wallace is half the price. There really isn't any downside to this other than Mack Hollins may not get as many snaps as I'd like. But Wallace at that low salary and he is old enough that it may make sense to limit his snaps and give some to Hollins.
