Why did we compare Pullman to Lubbock? I remember when Leach was hired by Washington State everyone was saying how he would fit right in at Pullman as it was similar to Lubbock.....Lubbock has like 320k population. Pullman has maybe 25k if you include the cattle. It appears Lubbock is a much more happening place then anyone realized.

it may suck, but it appears that it has MUCH more to offer than Pullman.

I've been to both cities. Pulman has Spokane kinda close - if you allow me to add that -- there is your winner. Lubbock is truly in the middle of nowhere. Hard to recruit to either place.

it might be located in the middle of nowhere, but where it is, it has 230k + people. Pullman is at 29k.

Texas supplied the high school talent. Does the Pacific Northwest supply superior football talent? I never hear much out of that part of the nation in terms of high school dominance.

Leach needs big linemen on offense and a solid QB. Those are abundant in Texas, are they in the Pacific Northwest? If he can get them locally or lure them in, he will succeed. He can recruit and Texas is big and he got kids to come to Lubbock.

Lubbock to Dallas is 345 miles, roughly 5 hours.
Pullman to Seattle is 286 miles, roughly 4 hours.

Pullman is only 70-75 miles from Spokane - bout an hour 1/2 - but I did it in 60 mins before.

Yup, just another big area to draw in high school talent.

The reason I used Dallas is because the only thing close enough to Lubbock worthy of their recruiting. Smaller area to cover up in Pullman to find those big school districts but depends if those big hoss linemen and smart QBs are available.
